The frankly brilliant Metamono are a London-based collective responsible for "soldering together latterday mechanical mutations from equipment too prematurely discarded by capitalism's hellbent tendency towards planned obsolescence". Musically, this translates as a hugely varied electronic trip steered by grizzled synths, fidgety drum machines and other such decrepit, dust-laden noise boxes. Their sound is warm, fuzzy and eccentric, recalling classic techno and electronica from yesteryear as well as fellow retro-enthusiasts such as the Ghost Box collective. Metamono have self-released a couple of very limited vinyl editions of their debut album 'With the compliments of Nuclear Physics' which you can find here, as well as a cassette.
This is undoubtedly one of the finest albums I've heard this year. Check it out below!
